When a Hurricane hits Buried City in ARC Raiders, First Wave Caches become one of the most interesting targets to search for. The problem is that these Hurricane Caches are not guaranteed to appear in the same place every match. A good route therefore matters just as much as knowing individual locations, especially when you are trying to collect ARC Raiders Items efficiently.
Why Buried City Works Well
Buried City is smaller than some other areas, which can be both helpful and dangerous. The compact layout means you can move between potential cache locations quickly, but it also means other players can arrive before you.
For that reason, the best strategy is not to explore the entire map. Instead, choose a small group of nearby potential locations and check them quickly.
Hurricane Caches are associated with normal Raider Cache positions, with only some potential locations becoming active during the event. Community reports often estimate the chance at around 20 percent, so finding nothing at one point does not mean the event is broken.
Start Along the Outer Ring
The outer area of Marano Park should be part of your first route. Follow the sandy perimeter instead of spending too much time moving through the center.
This approach gives you access to several potential locations while keeping your route relatively straightforward. The outer ring is also easier to remember, which is useful when you are trying to make repeated runs.
Keep your ears open as you move. If you hear the distinctive electronic signal, stop following the route and investigate the sound.
Move Toward Old Metro Areas
After checking the park perimeter, consider moving toward the Old Metro entrances. These locations are useful because the surrounding terrain includes exposed areas, elevation changes, and sandy sections.
However, do not make the mistake of assuming the cache is inside the metro itself. In Buried City, Hurricane Caches are generally associated with outdoor areas, often close to walls or buried in surrounding sand.
A quick scan of the exterior can therefore be more productive than immediately going underground.
Understand the Sound Cue
Visual searching becomes much harder during a Hurricane. Dust, movement, and environmental effects can make small containers easy to overlook.
Sound gives you another way to locate them. Hurricane Caches produce a high-frequency electronic beeping tone that can stand out from the storm once you know what you are listening for.
This is one of the biggest differences between simply checking locations and actually hunting efficiently. When you approach a potential spawn point, slow down and listen rather than running past it.
Make Night Mode Work for You
Audio settings can make this process easier. Night Mode can reduce the strength of deep environmental rumbling, allowing higher-frequency sounds to stand out more clearly.
The difference becomes especially useful during a loud Hurricane. Instead of increasing every audio setting, focus on reducing the background noise that competes with the cache's signal.
Once you hear the beeping, turn gradually and identify the direction before moving. This can save several seconds at every location.
Avoid Overstaying
One of the biggest mistakes is spending too much time searching a single area. Because Buried City is compact, solo players and small squads can reach common locations quickly.
A practical method is to check the four or five closest potential points immediately after landing. If there is no sound and no obvious cache, move on.
When your nearby route produces nothing, look for a Hatch Key and consider using a Hatch Exfil. Leaving early is not necessarily a failed run. Repeating several fast attempts can be more effective than spending an entire raid searching every corner.
Use Community Maps
Interactive maps are useful when you are still learning the area. MetaForge and MapGenie both offer Buried City maps that can help identify possible locations.
Their filters can make it easier to focus on containers or event-related markers. By comparing the map with your own route, you can gradually memorize the most convenient locations instead of checking everything.
Build a Repeatable Routine
A reliable Buried City routine is simple: land near several possible points, check the Marano Park outer ring, investigate the Old Metro surroundings, listen for the high-pitched signal, and leave quickly if nothing appears.
This approach keeps each attempt focused and reduces wasted movement during the Hurricane. Once your route becomes familiar, you can concentrate more on timing and positioning.
For players who want to prepare their loadout without spending as much time gathering every component, buy ARC Raiders Armors can also be part of your equipment planning before heading into another Hurricane run.
